Nature Discovery has collaborated with a specialist safari agent in Australia, The Infinite Horizon, enabling them to to create a Tanzanian safari as a raffle prize to raise money for The School of St. Jude, based in Arusha, Tanzania. This is part of a fund-raising event for the school to be held in Australia in June. All proceeds of the raffle go to The School of St. Jude.

Nature Discovery was approached as a sponsor because of their proven commitment to local communities and the outstanding quality of service they provide.   Their fleet of well-maintained safari vehicles and their highly trained, passionate, professional guides will ensure that the safari prize is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

St Jude’s is a charity school started by Australian born Gemma Sisia. It opened its gates to three students in 2002. Now the school delivers free, high-quality education to 1,800 of the most gifted yet impoverished students in northern Tanzania. It has expanded to 3 campuses and employs more than 280 staff.

In 2015 the first 6th form graduated (currently less than 2% of the student population in Tanzania graduate). Many graduates opted to spend a year giving back to their community by either teaching in their local government school or working at St Jude’s. The programme has been a huge success with local schools reporting an increase in student attendance and improved grades. Graduates of St Jude’s have also been accepted into quality universities throughout Tanzania embarking on studies in engineering, medicine, science and education.

The colourful school buses with the distinctive font of St Jude’s have added to the colour and vibrancy of the town as they have become a permanent part of the landscape.

This inspiring success story will play a significant role in shaping the future of Tanzania by fostering the next generation of leadership.

The accomplished success of The School of St Jude is only possible through the generous support of sponsors like Nature Discovery.
